Rumor has it the car will be based on the same platform as the NSX, but will have SH-AWD and a 2.0 4-pot. Also it would be sold in the US as a Honda.

The new NSX hasnt even hit the streets yet and now there are rumors of a smaller car. Sense, this makes none. OTOH maybe it’ll explain why development has taken such a long time since the “redo” of the first new NSX.

In that article, it states:
“ The NSX is sold as a Honda outside the U.S., but as an Acura only here. That means the reverse will be true of the “baby,” and it will be badged as a Honda in the U.S.”
I recall reading that the new NSX would be marketed as an Acura everywhere... which I thought was an excellent idea if Honda is serious about running Acura properly.
I think marketing it as an Acura in some markets and a Honda in most others was a huge mistake in the past and will be a huge mistake again. Doing that makes people take Acura less seriously as a true luxury brand.
The NSX should only be an Acura. And I think the cheaper version for the Honda brand would make sense. And maybe call it the Prelude.

Acura only exists to take advantage of American car buyers who would be willing to pay more for a premium brand.

Acura is sold in more countries than just the USA. For example... it’s also sold in China.

Honda knows we want it, the bastards. Regardless of what brand it sells under
